A 2m³ skip holds around 2,000 litres of waste, which is roughly the equivalent of 20 to 25 wheelbarrow loads. This size is well suited to smaller jobs like a bathroom renovation, a garden clean-up, or a small home decluttering project.
A 3m³ skip holds around 3,000 litres of waste, which is roughly the equivalent of 30 to 35 wheelbarrow loads. This size suits bigger jobs like larger renovations, building projects, or construction sites generating higher volumes of waste.
Clean garden refuse refers to organic plant material only — things like grass cuttings, leaves, branches, hedge trimmings, and weeds. It excludes anything non-organic such as soil, rubble, plastic, treated wood, or general household waste. Keeping garden refuse "clean" in this sense means it can be processed, composted, or recycled without contamination from other waste types.
No, garden refuse should not be packed into black plastic bags. Black bags make it difficult to see what's inside, which can slow down processing and risks contaminating the load if non-organic waste is mixed in unnoticed. Garden refuse is best loaded loose directly into the skip.
Clean rubble skips are strictly for inert building materials like bricks, concrete, tiles, sand, stone, cement and soil. No other waste may be mixed in.
No, wood cannot be included in a building rubble skip. Rubble skips are reserved for clean, inert building materials only. Wood is treated differently at disposal facilities, and mixing it in with rubble can affect how the load is processed and recycled.
No, plasterboard cannot be included in a building rubble skip. Like wood, plasterboard falls outside the inert materials category that rubble skips are meant for, and including it can affect how the load is sorted and disposed of at the correct facility.
Mixed loads (general waste) refer to skips that combine several different types of waste in one load, rather than requiring it to be separated by type. This includes materials such as wood, plastic, paper, rhino-board, tree cuttings, household waste, and builders rubble, all combined together in a single skip.
Yes. Our 1 to 5 day rental option lets you choose the number of days that suits you, from 1 to 5, at the same price regardless of which day count you pick within that range.
Yes. Our weekend rental option has the skip delivered on Friday afternoon and collected on Monday, giving you the full weekend to fill it at your own pace.
If you need the skip beyond your original booking, you can extend it. Rentals of up to 5 days are included in the standard price, and any additional time beyond that is charged at R50 per day. If you know in advance that your project will run longer, our long-term rental option is worth booking instead, with charges confirmed upfront.
We deliver sand, stone, compost, lawn dressing, and other similar loads for garden or landscaping use. If it fits in our skips, we can collect it from the supplier and deliver it straight to your property.
We can fit up to 2m³ per load. This makes us a good option if you need a smaller quantity than what larger suppliers or depots typically deliver.
You don't need a full load. Even a bakkie-load quantity of sand, stone, compost, or lawn dressing can be collected and delivered — ideal if you need less than what a depot would typically deliver.
We charge a base rate of R500 for collection and delivery within a 25km round trip, and R5.00 per km thereafter. This applies across sand, stone, compost, and other similar materials.
You do. Bully Bins delivers the skip to your property, and you load it yourself at your own pace over the rental period. We don't provide loading labour as part of the standard skip hire service. If you need help with loading, let us know when you book and we can discuss options.
You can book on the day in many cases, but we recommend booking a day or two in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during busier periods. Booking ahead also gives you more flexibility to choose your preferred delivery date and time.
Bully Bins prices skips by size and by rental duration. Every skip includes up to 5 days of rental in the price. If you need the skip for longer than 5 days, a standing charge of R50 per day applies after the initial 5-day period. This gives you the flexibility to keep the skip for exactly as long as your project needs, without being locked into a single fixed rental window.
No, we don't charge dumping fees separately. They're already included in your skip price.
Yes. If you don't have quite enough waste to fill a skip on your own, sharing one with a neighbour is a great way to split the cost and make full use of the space.
